Our team in North-Kenya is now busy with a new borehole in Lasaen, a small community near Illhaut.
They started sunday the 7th of June with drilling with help from some locals in a spot where the villagers know that the chanche is big that water is not salty. Because this is one of the problems in the North; most of the deep wells, which they also got some years ago, gives salty water, good enough for growing vegetables and give the cattle water but not good for the people.
Now after 6 days they reached the water and are very happy to tast the water is not salty. The team will now digg some meters more to be sure that also in dry periods this water is still available. On the borehole they will install an Afridev handpump. More info and pictures will be posted in some days on this site.
